The purpose of Mission Amanda is to carry on the work that the Lord began in Amanda’s life; to lift up the name of Jesus; to point others to the hope and abundant life that we can all have through faith in Jesus Christ.
In life, we are each given many choices. The decisions and choices we make affect our character, our attitudes, our direction in life and ultimately our final destination. Amanda consistently made choices in her life that would help her to become the person that God wanted her to be. She understood that God, her Intelligent Designer, lovingly created her for a purpose in life and that through a personal relationship with her, He would guide her on the right path. - The Lord of the Rings, watch movies and listen to music that would help to develop her imagination, inspire her sense of adventure, increase her appreciation of beauty and romance, but that would also increase her desire for purity and hunger for truth. She understood the significance of “garbage in, garbage out” and the necessity of feeding our minds with good.
Amanda believed God’s plan for her was first to be a Godly woman and secondly a Medical Doctor. She had a passion to connect with people and was pouring her mind and soul into studying the way the body works in order to guide her future patients into optimum health. Through her life and death, she is pointing others to the Giver of abundant life, the Ultimate Healer, Jesus Christ. The Medical symbol originates from the story of Moses when he told the Israelites to look to the mounted bronze serpent in order to be healed. “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so, the Son of man be lifted up that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:14, 15) Through Amanda’s life Jesus was lifted up so that others could be drawn to Him and have eternal life. In this way, Amanda has achieved and continues to achieve her medical mission.
